Bilbao, Spain - Brothers Inaki and Nico Williams etched their names into the history books on Saturday as they led Athletic Bilbao to the Copa del Rey final with a stunning performance against Osasuna. The brothers became the first siblings to score and assist each other in a Copa del Rey semi-final since 2006, propelling Bilbao to a 2-1 victory.
Inaki Williams opened the scoring in the 21st minute with a powerful header, before Nico Williams doubled the lead just 10 minutes later with a clinical finish. Osasuna pulled one back in the second half, but it was Nico Williams who sealed the victory with a superbly taken free-kick in the dying minutes.
The performance of the Williams brothers was particularly impressive considering that Nico Williams has been earning rave reviews for his performances at Euro 2024. The 20-year-old winger has been one of the breakout stars of the tournament, scoring three goals and providing two assists in Spain's run to the semi-finals.
